County Athletics Success

Congratulations to the Haydon Bridge students who were medallists in the Northumberland County Schools Athletics Championships.

Nathan took silver in both the high jump and 80m hurdles. Jake was third in the 1500m steeplechase, Luke third in the hammer and Rory third in the 100m. Charlotte won the 300m hurdles, was second in the triple jump and third in the 300m, establishing new school records in all these events.

In addition Nathan, Jake, Charlotte and Meghann have all been selected for the Northumberland Schools team for the inter-counties match.

National School Sport Week

HBHS National School Sports Weeks will be held on the 28th June - 2nd July.

The 2010 School Sports Week holds events ranging from Frisbee Golf, Futsal and even Cirus Skills which we hope will make this year the best to date!

AS/A Level/BTEC results can be collected from school on Thursday 19th August:
 
2009/10 Year 13 can collect results between 8.30am - 10.30am 
2010/11 Year 13 can collect results between 10.30am - 12.30pm 
GCSE results can be collected on Tuesday 24th August between 9.00am - 12.00am
   
 
Rugby – Cup Success

The Year 10 rugby squad repeated their success of last season by winning the Northumberland County merit table, in a competitive season contested by all Northumberland schools.  HBHS had the best record winning 7 of 10 games and defeating their main rivals.  30 boys represented the school at this age group this season and showed excellent commitment. This success goes alongside the County 10's success, only conceded one try to win the competition.The Year 9 team’s efforts have also been rewarded as they won their County merit table by the closest of margins.The Year 12/13 team were runners up in the Tyneside 7's tournament and many of the players represented Tynedale when they won the County Colts Cup.  Well done to all involved.
 
Afterschool Archery Every Tuesday

Archery class will be held on the hockey field after school every Tuesday this term, starting on Tuesday 27 April 2010 from 3.30pm. Any students who are interested in taking part please come along. Late bus passes will be available as usual.

A new Lunchtime/Afterschool Timetable has been created and can be found within the Student section of the top menu.
