Three students were taken to the Gateshead Stadium on Wednesday 18th May to take part in the Disability Sport Event (DSE), with each competing in 4 different events to beat both their personal bests and the standards needed to have the opportunity to progress and participate in the National Finals in Preston later this summer. There are two sporting events upcoming this week, Athletics and Cricket:
On Monday 23rd May the boys and girls from Years 9 & 10 will be competing for top positions within the Tynedale Schools Athletics Event. It starts at 10:00 and finishes at 15:00 and is held at Wentworth, Hexham.
On Wednesday 25th May the schools Under 14's (Year 9) Cricket team will be taking part in a cup fixture versus Cramlington, this will start at 15:30. |

Year nine students visited John Martin's exhibitation at the Laing Art Gallery.
Over two days, 167 students were taken to the gallery in Newcastle to experience the Haydon Bridge Victorian artist's work firsthand.

2011 saw the second trip to Arran by HBHS Geography. Like last year it seems that good weather follows the school when in Scotland.
Not one drop of rain fell, not one midge was seen and all students were on time and properly equipped...

March was the driest and sunniest for 50 years, dominated by clear skies, blooming flowers and lambs frolicking in the fields.
