Re: Industrial Action by the National Union of Teachers

You may have read, or heard, that the above union is planning a one day strike on Thursday 24th April 2008 as part of a dispute with the Secretary of State about salaries within the teaching profession.

I would like to inform you that our school will remain open for all students to attend on this day.  There will, however, be disruption to some lessons and alternative arrangements are being made to manage this on the day.

Would you please ensure that your son/daughter comes to school with coursework, homework, a reading book or revision materials to ensure they can continue their studies should alternative arrangements be necessary for a particular lesson.
