to Haydon Bridge High School
We are a small, inclusive rural comprehensive school which sits at the heart of the community. There are currently around 430 students in the school from Year 7 to Year 13.
We are extremely proud of our friendly and focused academic atmosphere – one that is rich with diversity and opportunities. Students enjoy their time at Haydon Bridge High School and we value all their individual interests and talents. We encourage resilience in all of our students, building their sense of social responsibility and independence so they leave school as well-rounded individuals with the capacity and desire to lead.
We value our positive relations between staff and students and are proud of our friendly and purposeful atmosphere. We take the wellbeing of our pupils seriously and are therefore committed to enhancing both the physical and mental health of all our students. We have a successful and proactive pastoral care system and offer an extensive array of extra-curricular opportunities that are vital in helping to inspire and challenge our students. These include music, individual and team sport, foreign and local trips and many other activities.
Our website will give you a flavour of what we have to offer, but nothing can replace seeing a school in action. To arrange a visit during which you can see our fantastic and dedicated staff and students in action please contact the main school office.

The Sunshine Panners are an independent community group that practises on our site and is run by ex-students of the school.
The school is proud to have close links with them.
Our Year 7 students created these animations as part of the Graphic Novel to Animation Project (in conjunction with Hexham Book Festival).
